Lindsey Mikal

As practice director for Communications Strategy Group’s Education practice, Lindsey Mikal is responsible for overall client strategy and management across a broad spectrum of education-related organizations.

In her practice director role, Lindsey leads the development and execution of media and public relations strategy for clients in the K-12 and higher education spaces.

Lindsey has earned coverage for her clients in print publications including USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Fast Company and U.S. News & World Report and online outlets including TechCrunch, Fortune.com, Yahoo! and FoxBusiness.com. She has also secured media placement in industry trade publications such as The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, University Business, Campus Technology and College Planning & Management.

Before joining CSG|PR, Lindsey spent five years in Washington, D.C., most recently as assistant director of media relations at the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), an independent grant-making agency of the federal government. At NEH, she was the principal media relations professional, serving as the primary point of contact for press and managing NEH media relations campaigns. While at NEH, Lindsey worked with a wide variety of local, trade and national media outlets, including The Associated Press, The New York Times, The Washington Post, CBS Sunday Morning and NPR, to secure coverage for the Endowment.

Previously, Lindsey was director of communications at the Senior Executives Association (SEA), a Washington, D.C.,-based non-profit professional association. At SEA, she managed the Association’s strategic communications efforts, overseeing the development of all print, online and distributed media and publications.

In addition to her work at CSG|PR, Lindsey also serves on the Board of Directors of Colorado Humanities, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to supporting high-quality literary, cultural and historical programs throughout Colorado. As a member of the Board, she helps develop, support and evaluate a broad range of humanities programs and activities for K-12 students and adults, as well as considers grant proposals, serves on committees and assists with fundraising efforts.

Lindsey graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Wittenberg University, where she also served as editor-in-chief of the student newspaper and was admitted into the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society.

She joined CSG|PR in January 2010.
